Jasmine Khoo
PIANO, VIOLIN, AND UKULELE TEACHER
NOW TEACHING: WEDNESDAYS AND SATURDAYSJasmine graduated from The University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Music (Piano Performance) degree and has been teaching piano, violin and ukulele in Singapore for the past five years. Currently, she is furthering her expertise by pursuing a Master's degree in Teaching (Secondary) at the University of Melbourne, with the goal of shaping the next generation of musicians.
Jasmine's journey with the piano began at the age of seven, inspired by her mother’s playing. Growing up, she found joy in listening to her mother’s music and aspired to experience the same fulfillment. She pursued her passion with dedication, completing the Trinity ATCL Diploma in piano, which further refined her skills and musicianship. That sense of joy is what she now strives to instill in her students. With a teaching philosophy centered on both excellence and enjoyment, Jasmine ensures her students feel confident in their ability to achieve quality playing while having fun. Her goal is to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students can develop their skills, creativity, and lifelong love for music.
In addition to piano, Jasmine’s musical journey has been enriched by other instruments. Her mother also taught her violin, guiding her till Grade 8, which deepened her understanding of string instruments and musicianship. Beyond formal lessons, Jasmine took the initiative to teach herself the ukulele, an instrument she has deeply enjoyed exploring. This diverse musical background has broadened her perspective as a teacher, allowing her to connect with students who have different musical interests and aspirations.
During her free time, she also enjoys baking, singing and playing golf.

Gabriel Bermeo
GUITAR, PIANO AND VOCALS TEACHER

Gabriel Bermeo, originally from Pereira, Colombia, has over 10 years of experience in the music industry. His journey began at an early age, influenced by a musical family, a school with a strong tradition in music, and a church where he enjoyed live performances every week. At the age of 12, Gabriel started learning guitar and singing in his church.Over time, his passion for music grew so much that he decided to pursue professional music studies.
During his training, he focused on classical guitar while also nurturing a deep interest in electric guitar. This led him to take lessons with maestro Jaime Jaramillo, who introduced him to genres such as blues, jazz, fusion rock, funk, and soul. Through classical guitar, Gabriel also developed an appreciation for traditional Colombian and Latin American music.
During university, Gabriel had a transformative experience studying abroad in Fortaleza, Brazil, for almost a year. There, he immersed himself in Brazilian traditional music and had his first experience living outside Colombia. Upon his return, he graduated and, in 2019, released an acoustic EP titled “Regresa a Casa” featuring six songs he composed during his time at university.
Beyond his studies, Gabriel was always active in various musical projects, performing with bands across a range of genres, including rock, salsa, jazz, and reggaeton. Throughout his career, he has released three singles showcasing his unique musical style, a blend of rock, pop, and soul, accompanied by music videos available on streaming platforms.
Today, Gabriel lives in Melbourne, Australia, where he has been residing for the past two years. He is in his second year of studying Music Production at Collarts, dedicating himself to recording his music and continuing to do what he loves most: creating and sharing his art.

Joshua Mancini
CELLO TEACHER
NOW TEACHING: SATURDAY 2PM, SUNDAY 2PMJoshua embarked on his musical journey in Grade 2 at Ivanhoe Primary School, where he was introduced to the cello. This early introduction to music cultivated a lifelong passion for both the instrument and the art of music. He has been fortunate to have attended both primary and high schools with incredible music programs. Allowing him to develop a love for teaching and performing.
Joshua holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from Melbourne Polytechnic. During his studies, he explored both classical and contemporary cello playing. Additionally, he has successfully completed all AMEB cello exams from Preliminary to Grade 8. Joshua has two years of experience teaching cello at Kew High School. He is dedicated to creating fun, engaging and structured learning environments that inspire student growth and musical development.
Joshua's teaching philosophy is centred around the belief that music education should be both enjoyable and structured. He strives to create a positive and supportive learning atmosphere where students feel encouraged to explore their musical potential. Joshua emphasises the importance of building a strong technical foundation while also fostering creativity and self-expression. He believes that every student has a unique musical voice and aims to help them discover and develop it through personalised instruction and thoughtful guidance.
Joshua loves performing in both classical and rock ensembles and wants his students to share that passion. He believes that experiencing a wide range of musical styles enriches one's understanding and appreciation of music. Whether he's playing a symphony or jamming with a band, Joshua brings enthusiasm and energy to every performance. In his teaching, he encourages students to explore different genres and find their own unique voice. He also incorporates practical tips for stage presence and audience engagement, aiming to build well-rounded musicians who are confident and versatile.
Joshua is highly organised in his teaching approach and possesses a strong background in music education. His primary goal is to make lessons enjoyable and structured in a manner that fosters student growth and helps them discover their love for music, just as he did. Lastly Joshua wants to surprise students by how cool the cello can be and surprise them with its diversity.

Jason Felipe Lopez Valencia

Saturdays 2pm-3:45pmJheison started in the world of music at the age of 15 years old in the Casa De La Cultura Dosquebradas from his hometown of Pereira in Colombia. Two years studying guitar in that school led to him making the decision to study a Bachelor of Music
Education at the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, the program from which he graduated in January 2020. During his major, which focused on classical guitar, Jheison was taught by Edison Sandoval and Alejandro Montoya, both of whom are extremely well-recognised guitarists in Colombia. Also, Jheison had to improve different type of subjects related with music education as they were Piano (4 years), choir (4 years), SingingTechnique (2 years), pedagogicalSubjects (5 years) among several others.
At that time, Jheison also had the opportunity to have master classes with renowned guitarists around Latino America such as Edwin Guevara from Colombia, Martin Marino from Argentina and Hector Vudoyra from Mexico.
Although his education in university focused on classical guitar, Jheison has been always fascinated by the world of jazz, pop and rock music. So before graduating from his Bachelor, Jheison began learning to play and master these musical genres based on his previous knowledge. He then enrolled into the virtual courses of Jazz Improvisation and History and Theory of Blues Music with Berkeley College of Music and Rochester University respectively.
He went on to take master jazz guitar classes with teachers Jaime Jaramillo from Universidad de Caldas and Carlos Peralta from Fernando Sor Institute, both of whom boast huge experience in professional jazz music. These classes were thoroughly enjoyable and profitable.
Jheison has been part of many musical projects, playing guitar around his native country or piano in a couple of Latin Music groups. Also, having his own band in which he played numerous gigs with.
He then moved to Australia two years ago, looking to keep developing his musical skills, whilst he has been playing gigs and Jams around Melbourne and searching for the opportunity to achieve his goal of getting his Master Degree of Jazz Music at an excellent university in his current city of living.

Matilda Yang
PIANO/GUITAR/BASS/DRUMS TACHER

Saturdays 12:30pm-1:30pmAs a soon-to-be graduate of Monash University’s Bachelor of Music, as well as having graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Music and Audio Technology, Matilda is well-versed in both the performance and production aspects of music. She has a Diploma in Piano Performance and Grade 5 in Music Theory, giving her a solid musical foundation that she imparts to her students. Throughout her teaching experience, she has always catered to students’ strengths and preferred genres to make the learning experience fruitful and enjoyable.
Since attending piano lessons from the age of 6, Matilda’s passion for music has never faltered. She has gone on to pick up many other instruments, including the guitar, drums, bass, and singing. Her skills as a multi-instrumentalist have allowed her to be part of many projects - from accompanying singer-songwriters to jazz fusion bands.
Beyond the classroom, Matilda enjoys collaborating with her peers on new projects, be it in songwriting, producing, or sessioning. She gigs actively and draws from her influences of funk, rock, and folk to bring out the best in a song - whether it’s on Spotify, or a stage.

Bailea Hutchinson
VIOLIN/CLARINET/MUSIC THEORY TEACHER

Fridays 4pmBailea has been a musician for over 10 years, gaining experience through many instruments and groups. She studied violin, following the AMEB syllabus and having many opportunities to perform. Her involvement in the MYOs program from a young age helped to develop her performance abilities and her ability to play in ensembles and groups. Since then, she has gone on to be concertmaster in Sacre Coeur’s senior orchestra and have the opportunity to be a soloist performing Vivaldi’s concerto for two violins in A minor.
Most recently she has joined the Law String Orchestra at Monash University, allowing herself new performance opportunities with a more advanced group.
In addition to violin, Bailea also plays clarinet which she has studied for 7 years, being involved in many concert and jazz bands during this time. She also plays guitar and drums on a more hobby level. She is the drummer in a newly formed band which hopes to be able to perform in the near future, expanding her performance experience.

Amelia Liu
PIANO/THEORY TEACHER
NOW TEACHING: TUESDAYSAmelia Liu is a passionate and skilled piano teacher with extensive experience fostering musical growth in young learners. With an AMEB Grade 6 piano certification and a deep commitment to education, Amelia tailors her teaching approach to suit each student's unique learning style and developmental needs.
Amelia holds a Master of Arts from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Art and Design from Jiangnan University in China. She has been teaching piano at Bumblebee Arts Centre, where she has successfully prepared students for AMEB exams and organized engaging mid-year concerts that enhance their confidence and stage presence.
Amelia’s dedication to teaching extends beyond the music room. In 2025, she will begin her Master of Teaching at the University of Melbourne, a program designed to deepen her expertise in education and child development. This reflects her commitment to creating impactful and enriching learning experiences for her students.
Amelia's love for music is intertwined with her creative arts background. She has composed original soundtracks for animations, crafted children’s book illustrations, and even shared her music through street busking. Her diverse creative pursuits inspire her teaching, blending artistic expression with musical education.
As a mother and a certified early childhood educator, Amelia understands the importance of nurturing young minds. She integrates interactive music activities, storytelling, and foundational music concepts to create an inclusive and engaging environment for her students.
When not teaching, Amelia enjoys composing music, creating art, and exploring new ways to combine her talents to enrich the lives of children through music and creativity.

Filip Fulco
PIANO ACCOMPANIST
Filip Fulco is currently studying his Bachelor of Music at Monash University, where he is specialising in Classical Piano Performance under Robert Chamberlain. He is the accompanist for the Monash University Choral Society (MonUCS), and has experience in accompanying students for
AMEB exams and school recitals. He is very passionate about fulfilling the role of accompanist, particularly in choral music, having taken part as accompanist for Monash University’s vocal ensemble in his studies.
In addition to his music studies, Filip is completing a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology.
In his spare time, Filip enjoys playing piano (obviously), listening to music, reading and watching movies.

Amaris Lee-David

Owner of Groove FoundationsWith over 17 years of performing and educating young musicians, Amaris has developed an engaging and playful pedagogy using game and play-based therapy techniques that inspires creativity and non-judgemental playing, practice and performing.
Amaris has performed at many musicals, concerts, and productions. Some of these include:
Monash’s Musical Theatre Unit (MuST): Bare, Metamorphosis. Sandringham College’s Cinderella (2015), Koonung Secondary College’s Thoroughly Modern Millie (2017), Nova’s Wizard of Oz (2019), PEP Productions’ A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (2023), The Lyrebird Awards Ceremony (2018), and Music Directed the Youth Lyrebird Award Ceremony the same year.
Amaris Assistant Music Directed Lumina Theatre Fame (2016), as well as PEP Production’s Is There Life After Highschool (2017) and won a Lyrebird Award in the category Best Variety Musical.
Amaris debuted her first Music Director role in PEP Production’s Reefer Madness (2017) and was nominated as Best Musical Director in the Lyrebird Awards. Since then, she has also Music Directed and played Keys 1 in Oxygen's Next to Normal (2018), and Bustco’s Ensomblah (2019). Ensomblah won two Lyrebird Awards, along with four nominations including Best Musical Director.
It is now Amaris’ mission and passion to share the joy of mentoring other young teachers and musicians at Dynamic Music Studios. She believes in the magic and creativity that music provides, and the tremendous positive benefits it brings towards families, communities and individuals.
